Frequently asked questions
Rebuilding a website
When should you redesign your website?
The recurring signs: a site that's slow or unreadable on a phone, a dated design, content you can't update, a drop in enquiries, or a platform that's no longer maintained. As a rule, a website is rebuilt every four to six years.
Does a redesign cost you your Google ranking?
Only if it's done badly. The risk comes from page addresses changing without redirects: Google finds missing pages and traffic collapses. With a redirect plan and well-ranking content kept, rankings hold — and often improve.
How much does a website redesign cost?
It depends on what's worth keeping. Reusing existing copy and photos costs less than starting over. The initial audit is what allows precise costing, by separating what works from what holds you back.
How do I know if my site is too slow?
Test it on a phone over mobile data, off your wifi. Past three seconds of waiting, a large share of visitors give up. Google's free tools measure that speed and point at what's dragging it down: oversized images, plugins, weak hosting.
My site isn't mobile-friendly: does it matter?
Yes, twice over. Your visitors, who mostly come from a phone, leave; and Google, which assesses the mobile version first, ranks you lower. It's one of the first things to fix.
Redesign or new site: what's the difference?
A redesign builds on what exists: you keep the domain name, the content that works and the SEO history. A new site starts from scratch. In most cases a redesign is faster and better protects your place in Google.
Working with Helioz
How does a project with Helioz work?
A first conversation to understand your business, then a detailed quote. Nothing starts until you agree. After that come the mock-up, feedback rounds, development, and finally going live.
What do I need to provide to get started?
Your photos and the details of your business. For the text, we start from a short questionnaire and shape it with you: you won't be left writing your website alone in front of a blank page.
Who handles the domain name and hosting?
We do. Domain name, hosting, security certificate and email addresses are all set up for you. The yearly subscriptions stay in your name and are listed in the quote.
Which areas do you cover?
We're based in Cannes and work all along the French Riviera: Mandelieu-la-Napoule, Le Cannet, Mougins, Antibes, Cagnes-sur-Mer, Nice and Monaco. Projects can also be run entirely remotely, anywhere in France.
