Frequently asked questions

Building a website

How much does a website cost?

In France, a professional showcase website ranges from a few hundred euros for a handful of pages to several thousand for a complex site. What moves the price: the number of pages, how bespoke the design is, the features and the SEO work. You get a detailed quote, page by page, before anything starts.

How long does it take to build a website?

Usually a few weeks for a showcase site: a week or two of design, then development and revisions. The timeline mostly depends on how fast the content (text, photos) comes together — that's almost always where time is lost.

What's the difference between a showcase site and an e-commerce site?

A showcase site presents your business and makes you reachable: an online business card that has to build trust and prompt a call or a message. An e-commerce site sells directly online: catalogue, basket, payment, delivery and order management.

Do I need a website if I already have a Facebook page or a Google listing?

Yes, they complement each other. A social media page isn't yours: the rules, the reach and the look change without you. Your website is the only space you control, and it's what shows up for specific searches about your trade.

How do you rank on Google as a local business?

Three things matter. A complete Google Business Profile with genuine reviews. A fast, clear site that states what you do and where. And a dedicated page per service rather than one catch-all page: Google ranks pages, not companies.

Bespoke, WordPress or Wix: which should I choose?

Wix is quick but locks you into a subscription and a look shared with thousands of other sites. WordPress is powerful, but piles up plugins to update, with the vulnerabilities and slowness that follow. Bespoke takes a little more work up front and gives you a fast, unique site with no dependencies to watch.

What are a domain name and hosting?

The domain name is your address (helioz-agency.fr, for instance): you rent it yearly. Hosting is the space where the site's files live. Both are paid annually and should stay in your name: that's what guarantees the site is really yours.

Why does my site need to work on mobile?

Because most visits come from a phone, and because Google looks at the mobile version of your site first when ranking it. A site that's unreadable on mobile loses visitors and search positions at the same time.

Working with Helioz

How does a project with Helioz work?

A first conversation to understand your business, then a detailed quote. Nothing starts until you agree. After that come the mock-up, feedback rounds, development, and finally going live.

Can I edit the site myself?

Yes, if you want to: we can add an admin area so you can change your text and photos without going through us. Bouhnik Expertises uses it every day.

What do I need to provide to get started?

Your photos and the details of your business. For the text, we start from a short questionnaire and shape it with you: you won't be left writing your website alone in front of a blank page.

Who handles the domain name and hosting?

We do. Domain name, hosting, security certificate and email addresses are all set up for you. The yearly subscriptions stay in your name and are listed in the quote.

Which areas do you cover?

We're based in Cannes and work all along the French Riviera: Mandelieu-la-Napoule, Le Cannet, Mougins, Antibes, Cagnes-sur-Mer, Nice and Monaco. Projects can also be run entirely remotely, anywhere in France.
